Viewing box plots of a numeric column broken down by values of another column

Box plots provide a visual representation of a numeric column’s summary statistics:

• The central box extends from the data’s lower quartile to its upper quartile
• The line in the middle of the box (separating the yellow from purple regions) represents the sample median
• The lower and upper whiskers extend to the sample minimum and maximum

To view a box plot of a numeric column broken down by the values of another column:

1. In the Summary view, select the numeric column whose box plot you wish to view
2. In the Covariate table, select the column whose categories or quantiles you wish to group by
3. Below the covariate view, ensure that the button labeled Boxes is selected
4. One or more box plots will appear in the covariate view
